| On evolution in Rome - report from PAS meeting | | 2009-03-23 10:21:54 | | At the turn of October and November the Pontifical Academy of Sciences met in Rome to discuss the theory of evolution. The official topic under discussion was “Scientific insights into the evolution of the universe and of life." This was in connection with the Darwinian Year, on the occasion of the 200 anniversary of his birthday and the 150th anniversary of the publication of the book On the Origin of Species. When I heard about this session I searched out addresses of all the members of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences (among them about one-third are Nobel prize laureates) and sent them my booklet “Teaching on evolution in European schools" together with a cover letter in which I explained who I am and I expressed the hope that the enclosed booklet would prove useful to them in connection with the session they were about to participate in.

| Thursday July 10th 2008. | | 2008-10-27 21:26:40 |  Speech for the debate with president Sarkozy on the French presidency, prepared, but not delivered. It was proposed in due time but the needed one minute was not allotted. Then after the approved speeches there was an attempt to participate in the "catch the eye" procedure but president Poettering chose to note 6 other speakers ignoring sequence. Being first to be noted by the president's secretaries proved futile.

| Paper for UNEC meeting in Paris 7th June 2008 :Traditional Catholicism in Polish public life | | 2008-10-20 09:21:58 |  During Soviet times Poland was very effective in defending its Catholic identity. At the Eucharistic Congress in Munich in 1960 there was a poster showing a map of Europe with a dagger dividing it along the line of the German-Polish border, and east of this dagger there was an inscription "Kein Platz fur Gott" - no pace for God. This was not true. West of the dagger was the German Democratic Republic which would much better fit the description as a place without God.

| Maciej Giertych's Electoral Committee Registered | | 2008-10-10 10:49:54 |  On the 8th day of June 2005 The National Electoral Commission issued a resolution registering The Electoral Committee of the candidate for the President of The Republic of Poland prof. Maciej Giertych.Plenipotentiary of the LPR committee Radoslaw Parda commented on the decision. "We now face the task of accumulating the required signatures and the effort of initiating the presidential and parliamentary campaigns."JPM (FS)

| Tangibles for Poland | | 2008-10-18 18:57:49 |  On June 11th 2005 in Radom's "Resursa Obywatelska" took place an assembly with professor Maciej Giertych MEP and the candidate for the Presidency in Poland as a special guest speaker sharing his views on various political and social subjects. The host Witold Bałażak Counselor of the Mazowieckie Voivodship welcomed all 250 people gathered and introduced the distinguished guest enumerating his life-long achievements.
